Jeddah, for centuries, has served as an important centre for trade and commerce on the Arabian Peninsula.  Even today, it is the hub of business activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with several major enterprises having their headquarters here. 
 
The Consulate General of India, Jeddah endevours to facilitate Indian business interest in this dynamic environment by providing relevant information about the business climate and key commercial practices.  India has been a supplier of traditional items such as rice, tea, spices to the Saudi market for years.  However, increasingly there is a shift in Indian exports with supply of a variety of non-traditional items and value added materials like machine tools, power generation equipment, pharmaceuticals, ceramics and transport equipment and information technology.

The Commercial Wing of this consulate renders a variety of services to facilitate business and commercial interests of Indian and Saudi exporters/investors broadly on the following:
 

  • Handling/ replying to trade enquires including information related to various business rules and regulations to both Indian and Saudi businessmen  
     
  • Mediation in the settlement of trade disputes between Indian and Saudi Companies, as the case may be.
     
  • Facilitating the visit of Indian business delegations, arranging Buyer-Seller Meetings or meetings with Saudi government officials, Chamber of Commerce and individual businessman.
     
  • Verifying the credentials of a particular company/ organization based in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia on receiving any such requests from Indian Agencies.
     
  • Providing information to Indian and Saudi Businessmen/investors on various exhibitions, trade fairs and shows organized in both countries.
     
  • Bringing out sector specific “Commercial Bulletin” that gives updated details of the industry, current developments and the contact particulars of leading Indian companies/ Agencies in the field.
     
  • Organising catalogue show of Indian companies in the important commercial cities in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia
