Muhammad Noor Rahman Sheikh is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer of 2004 batch.

 Prior to his assignment as the Consul General of India, Jeddah, Mr. Sheikh was posted as First Secretary at Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, New York from 16 November 2015 to 15 June 2016. From April 2012 to October 2015, he served as Deputy Consul General & Consul (Haj) at Consulate General of India, Jeddah.

 
He was posted as Under Secretary (West Asia & North Africa) in Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi from June 2009 to March 2012.

 His first posting abroad was to Embassy of India, Amman, Jordan from June 2006 to June 2009 during which he also learnt Arabic Language at University of Jordan, Amman.

 He holds Post Graduation (MA) in Political Science from Hindu College, Delhi University. He also holds Master in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Finance from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He is also an ex-Army Cadet of National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakvasla.
 He speaks English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Manipuri.

 He is a sports enthusiast with special interest in Yoga, Football, Badminton, long-distance Running, Taek-won-do and Swimming.

 He is married to Dr. Nazneen Rahman, who is a Physician (MBBS) and they have 4 children- Naima, Abdullah, Sarah and Mishaal.
